The Land van Peel and Maas area, at the heart of which Beringerzand is situated, extends over the Eastern part of Brabant and the Northern half of Limburg. This has since time immemorial been recognised as an area of high environmental appeal with a variety of natural landscapes, a rich cultural history and an established tradition of hospitality. So on a cycling trip don't be surprised to come across people who greet you with a friendly "Hallo" or "Hoije".

The Peel
A centuries old area of swamp and peat bog which forms the natural border between Brabant and Limburg.

The Maas
The landscape of "Mother Maas" with its uncorrected natural banks is undoubtedly the country's most beautiful river and makes for fertile soils. It's not for nothing that this is where the "White Gold" is harvested, making asparagus the queen of Limburg's vegetables.

Walking and Cycling
Walking and cycling is a true adventure here. Limburg has no less than three National Parks; in "de Groote Peel" rustic bridges enable you to get across the swamp land and peat bogs.

Wouldn't you just fancy an encounter with a shepherd in the dunes of the "Maasduinen" or a tour of the Protected Cultural Landscape of Central Limburg with its "Meinweg" National Park?

In this area, cycling is enjoyment thanks to a unique network of cycling routes. The best tourism routes have been cleverly linked up. By means of good maps and detailed itineraries, even the most beautiful nooks and crannies of Limburg can be quite easily 'conquered' by bicycle. A day's outing to the fascinating South Limburg hills and the Eifel and Ardennes is also very well worth the effort.
Multi-facetted, infinitely hospitable at all times of the year, that is Limburg.

Of course, you can also walk in the immediate surroundings of Beringerzand following the "Beringerzand route", through the "Vlakbroek" or... walk the "Fladder path" with your grandchildren, drawing their attention to the flora and fauna, which are explained along the way. Fancy a game of golf or experiencing the calming effect of the water with your fishing rod? Be it sailing, water skiing or a cultural round trip taking in historic towns or one of the many picturesque places, every day you will really find something new and interesting to do!
